In partnership with our customers, we have been hard at work adapting our software to be, well, really adaptable. Whether we are working for a student and their parent(s)/guardian(s) directly, or through a collaborating organization, our company and staff, our independent educational consultants, and our resource partners, are committed to flipping the factory model to enable data-driven, hyper-personalized choices. We will strive for this with good – and getting better -organizational design, people, and software. We call it K12 Ally; data-driven advice for parents, intelligent tutoring and support for students. K12 Ally is the product of 10 years of (unintentional) research gleaned from serving thousands of students at a large tutoring and enrichment center in Northern California beginning in 2013. Academy Learning demonstrated that students are best served when the adults, the parent and the school, work with reality and respect. The goal of a school is to educate groups of students. The goal of a student, with the help of their families we hope, is to get educated. For the sake of the student and all of us, we cannot let these dual goals become dueling goals. Let’s state it positively. When families and schools pursue their goals in good faith and with respect for each other, thereconcile in the life of an individual student. Helping another human get educated and achieve success is hugely rewarding. This is true for teachers and parents, parents and teachers.
To provide students with meaningful, effective, individualized recommendations, good data is a must. Whole-Child Learner Profile, created by the student and parent/guardian, and an independent K12 Advisor chosen by the student and parent/guardian. Although we partner with organizations and schools, we are organized around and focused on what is in the best interest of our clients; students and their parents/guardians.
